Hi Guys,
Im having a spot of bother...
New car and the middle leather part of the steering wheel (around the lotus horn badge)has worn away in a perfect circle to the point where it looks terrible.

I took it into my local Lotus dealer who first said it would be covered under warranty and now they are saying that it is wear and tear and therefore not covered! It certainly isnt "wear and tear" as the area in question is never touched and the car had the problem, which got worse after a few weeks.

They want to me pay £130 for the pleasure!
Surely, the part just pops off and a new on pops back on??
Any advice greatfully received

Check out Eliseparts.co.uk - they have replacements there. £130 is taking the piss.

I know its ridiculous.
Does anybody know how to remove it and fit a new one on? Does it just pop off and the new one pop on (in the ideal world that i live in where everything I touch just works...not)

It just pulls off. No screws/bolts/etc.

You can remove the horn button by removing the ring around the button (also just need top pry it out) and then disconnect the wires.

Put some tape around the wire terminals.. If they touch or the live one grounds your horn goes off

Bye, Arno.
