Some utter, utter, utter, utter, utter, utter, utter, utter, utter, utter B@STARD has fecked my Liz on the drivers side wheelarch.

A proper mong parking job I'm sure, about 6inches long, rubbed down to the Fibreglass.

So in one week I've notched up:
1) Replacement Steering Rack needed
2) Someone's tried to screwdriver the Lotus Badge off
3) Today's episode.

By my reckoning, over a grands worth of work needed now. I am royally p!ssed off.

Any recommendations for fibreglass repairs in Kent/Sussex/South London? I've done a search in the forums but only seen £900+ VAT for Sinclaires for a full front end respray.

I have recommended them before and I'll do it again, but Peels motorkraft in Bristol (peelsmotorkraft.co.uk) are fantastic. I too Live in London but its well worth travelling the distance. I have just had the front end repaired (after car reversed into it)and resprayed, like new for £225 plus VAT. My local Lotus dealership quoted me £1200 for the same job!
They are courteous and very friendly and real enthusiasts. I cannot recommend them highly enough and dont believe you will find anywhere better for the money.

bummer dude - it its any consolation someone did the same to my car 2x last year....and drove away both times...each time the repair was £400 ish (at Sinclaires) so that was £800 of repairs out ofmy own pocket

dunno how bad it is, but mine had a crack in the rear wheel arch, had to be laminated both sides and whole back end sprayed in

Cheers guys, good tip mav - will see what Sinclaires quote and then call your guys. If its gonna get done there's enough stone chips to warrant a full respray.

How long was it in for?

I'm sharing your pain.

Having just agreed a price for my car, I reckon that Tesco parking numpties and 90 year-old neighbours who can't park have cost me:

£1,500

If only I could live with driving a Land Rover Defender....

I know Reading is a trek from Kent but Specialized Paintwork do a sterling job and are reasonably priced.

They know Elise's inside and out. Always working on Elise's. Carl is the Guru for Elise, his dad Alan knows Lotus/Porsche inside out. I think they might be able to do better than £900.

Tel Carl or Alan on 0118 9306206.

Good luck

Know the feeling. Similar thing happened to me recently. No note or anything
It may be a bit far but you could try Ewelme Coachworks in Oxfordshire. Top bunch. They did the work on my car and finish was fab. Went through the Thames Valley Lotus Centre in Henley...top bunch and also quality results. They did my last service and carried out a full wheel alignment. Car's never been so good! Hope you get it all sorted ok.

Sinclaires quoted around £1k plus VAT (including a full armorfend on the front, post respray).

Clam has to come off, repair to the 'glass by the badge, less work on the wheelarch. Basically they'll do a full clam respray and include the small touch-up work on the 'glass at the same price. They do a deal for SELOC members.

The little sh!t(s) that did it wants murdering. I am livid.

Hi there,

Really sorry about that lot mate, you could try contacting Norman at Ntc car's of Dartford, he lives across the road from me and he's a Top Bloke, he also has a deep love for the Lotus brand.
