Does anybody out there use their elise on a daily basis or is this not practical or advisable?

I use my S2 to commute to work every day - 12k miles a year, and I know there are a lot of people who commute much further than me with no problems.
Aside from the obvious issues about luggage space etc it's fine to use every day - in fact it's more fuel economical than my wife's Ford Focus company car!! (p'raps I'm not driving it hard enough....)

I'm on my 4th Lotus in 5 years and they've always been my only car so used every day - no probs! But I suppose it depends on your circumstances.

Everyday in my S2 - only do about 8k a year - leave it parked at a railway station and commute into London but the drive to the station and home again always leaves me grinning - best affordable sports car on the road - bit of a biased point of view!!

No problems had the S1 from new in 99 now 83,0000 miles. Most major expense so far is set of disks/Pads on a C service plus other bits cost £996 by Steve Williams.

DVO is a standard S1 with Hardtop for the winter to keep out the rain and keep you warm, also with no Mods.

Buying guide at:

www.elise-faq.info/content/buying/index.php

In Winter Watch the temp and ensure the car is warm and the thermostat has opened before letting her loose.

My everyday car for the last two yrs..... I don't drive in snow and tend to buy a banger with 6 months MOT to hide in over winter. But generally ok

Moved from S1 to S2 which is much better but was amazed how little I missed things like electrics air con remote locking etc.

Less is more ;-)

Yep - Sport 160 down the backroads to work and back every-day..... come wind, rain (lots at the moment) or shine.

No Garage at home either - but even in winter it starts every time ( stalls a bit at around 57 degrees - Sport 160 problem apparently )

In the Engine stakes its only a tuned up MG...
