I am looking for some sound files of various exhaust systems for the Elise, specifically the Bell and Colville and the Brooke-kensington.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Alex

Alex, in all seriousness I know there are a bunch around. Do some searches in the forums and you should find what you're after mate.

Is it for an S1?

If so just get the Eliseparts. Renowned as one of the best made and it sounds superb. It makes a 1.8 litre Rover engine sound a thousand times better than it has any right to

It is for an S2. I've done a search but cant really find anything apart from the Larini exhaust, which doesnt sound quite right, especially with all that vibration. I am looking for a deep, but rich and lively note.

Anyone tried a Quicksilver exhaust???

Thanks,

Alex

I've just fitted a quicksilver to my S2 Exige.......if someone can host it I'll gladly do some footage for you (won't be till the weekend). Alternatively, could just email you the clips.

s1 111s with a janspeed and sports cat

Without the sports cat it is a screamer at high revs - like a tiny V6 - but a bit sewing machiney still

Now with the sports cat the sound has filled out nicely, so it can be a bit boomy and poppy as you cruise around which is good - then the scream still builds in until it sounds like all hell is breaking loose. I really, really like it (and it is bloody noisy, as many people have pointed out!)

Hi Zebedee,

I have an S1 111s and have been looking at improving the sound! Was going to go for a Larini until someone told me it was very quiet. I like the sound (no pun intended) of your setup. Can you tell me roughly what price I would be looking at and whether there are model types etc (if I ask for a Janspeed and sports cat will I get the same as you or do I need a particular type of each?)

Rich

P.S Do you have any sound clips?

As far as I am aware Janspeed only made one type of exhaust (unless they did a 2 into 1) but mine is a 2 piper.

The sports cat is a Lotus (or approved) item fitted by the garage - can't remember how much but somewhere between 100 and 200 I think, loads cheaper than a 'normal' one anyway.

Janspeed was already on it. I'm not a technical person so wouldn't know how to go about sound files etc - but I promise it sounds good - Tim Mullen (racing driver for Scuderia Ecosse in British GTs) looked a bit concerned after being stood by the track at Silverstone on a track day and later asked me to
confirm Elises didn't all sound like that! (In a good way!)
