Does your 111r make this noise?
Discussion
I sent my new 111r in for its 1000-mile service on Tuesday. Whilst it was in, I asked for a vibration/rattle noise to be looked into.
It can be heard at between 60/70 in top gear on a blended-throttle cruise, but goes away when accelerating or when throttle is backed right off. It sounds to me like it's coming from the passenger-side front wheelarch, and sounds to my untrained ear like something metallic vibrating. The dealer who I took out in the car noticed it and described it as sounding akin to a failing driveshaft.
I've just had the service department on the phone, and I'm now told that it's a gearbox noise, and that TADTS - They All Do That, Sir - it just needs more time to settle in.
I'm not happy with this explanation, so I'd like to ask other 111r-owning PH'ers if they have noticed a similar noise on their cars.
Any help/comments much appreciated!
