I was just on the 911 virgin site & they have a pretty cheap exige if anyones interested

Lotus Exige. December 2000 X-registration. The cheapest right hand drive non written off or damaged Lotus Exige for sale in the UK. Or at least as far as we know ! Loads of stone chips to the front end, 45k miles, fitted with air conditioning, service history from new, drives well, loads of spec like err.... a passenger seat and err.... wheels with tyres ! (well I don`t bloody know do I - we`re Porsche specialists and these things aren`t exactly bristling with goodies). A face off stereo an alarm / immobiliser and a tracker fitted. Now the good bit - £17,995 Millennium bug trade price £15,995

looks good, perhaps a link on www.seloc.co.uk or www.exiges.com may get more attention.

Well I am the guy who has just brought the cheap Exige and it's great, never missed a service, front looks like somebody has blasted it with shot but getting it repainted next week, interior fine, a little wear on the sill protectors and the corner of drivers seat where belt rubs. Drives really well, seems to have new front disks and pads, engine smokes a tiny bit on start up for a second or two, no rattles. Suspension seems crisp, no undue creaks or rattles. It's even got almost new and correct type tyres. Only got it as a second car, had an Elise 160S before. How can I find out engine spec as I don't know if it is 190HP? Seems to have a big oval exhaust, is this a sports version? Very pleased with it. Anything else I should knowWill keep you guys posted.

very nice simon. Would have gone for it myself if i hadnt bought mine just a few days before. I would love to put the audi engine in it. Cant answer your questions other than i thought i would have the 190 in as its an exige not a sport bodied elise. good luck and happy motoring.

the oval exhaust could mean its had the 190 bhp upgrade, but you need to find out if its had all the other bits that go with that. i.e ECU, airbox etc.
