Could be a whole host of things. I had an intermittant problem where the car would cut out and not restart for a few minutes. Other times it would cut out and restart but then cut out again. Turned out to be the immobiliser. It's very easy to bypass, let me know if you want any more info.

Mine did this... Needs to be reprogrammed... New FOB i think... there is a Combination you are supose to be able to use to re-sync it... ask your local lotus garage... or just pop in there for a "Quick Chat" and maybe show some interest in upgrading to a new car... then casually mention you have this issue with your car. he he... free advice.

IIRC it's detailed in the owners manual... have a look, might save you an unnecessary trip.

Hi did this work? - As I have a similar problem that has been intermittent up until this weekend when it became very pronounced.

I did ask about this a few months back but being the lazy sod I am have never got round to looking at it never mind fixing.

Then suggestions were the throttle position sensor & the idle air control valve (both require the Lotus check II scanner tool to set up once messed with).

So re setting the immobiliser would be welcome bit o news!
