After sunning myself in lanzarote for 2 weeks i cam back to the news that my pride and joy and 1st car ive ever bought, a chrome orange s1 had been written off by my girlfriends brother.

apparently he had taken it to work one morning-without i might add any permission, lost it in the wet ploughed up a kerb struck a wall, bounced off the wall and spun across four lanes of a dual carriageway(he was lucky he wasnt seriously injured, with the roads being quiet.

After much ringing round, incidentally while we were on holiday! the result was that it would have cost 15grand + vat to repair-more than the car itself.

after coming to terms with the loss we were then phoned by the guy who's wall we hit asking what we were going to do about it?!!! i bit my lip, instead of saying what i wanted to which was bulldozing his motherf**king wall!! and to make matters worse his name was mr skidmough!! someone definitely taking the pi*s out of me!!!

to cut a long story short, i have now replaced my baby with my new titanium 111s(pics to fllow soon)which if im being honest, is a much better car.

so all nots lost mourn the passing, and then get another quicker ruder noisier beast or as drag would say 'el beast.

good luck pal!!

Hmm there was a guy posting up on british cars bbs about doing exactly that and how he could get it repaired. Bet it was your sisters brother.

You should have reported it stolen and got him arrested Which I suppose technically it was.

Bizarre seeing the otherside of this on that other messageboard though.

p.s. If it was my wall, I'd want to know what your insurer was going to do about it too

Nightmare Cal. Sorry to hear about it but at lease you now have another fantastic car.

I've been quite philosophical about the whole thing really. I still think why didnt she brake sooner, drive slower, why couldnt I have been 10 seconds earlier or later etc but I doesnt do much good.

On the bright side I will have a new clam with no stonechips.

The only bummer is the wheel. Have to wait and see what the insurance company decide to do. (will have to try and get them to get me a new set of 160 victories instead!)

I'm sure I will get withdrawal symptoms after a few days.

you're telling us that your girlfriends brother effectively stole, then wrote off (uninsured legally) your car and he's still breathing? astonishing....

yeah - I know....there really isn't a lot you can do unless your sister decides she's happy finding a new boyfriend!

but.....i really hope he understands quite how serious this could have been. considering he DID crash it, he obviously should never have got behind the wheel....and he wouldnt have been insured. If he'd hit and crippled someone......

Tell the police. You can justify it by saying its for his own good!

I presume said stupid boyfriend will now be spending the next 4 or 5 years paying for your new pride and joy?

Lucky he didn't get his collar felt by the ... in fact I'm utterly amazed he hasn't.
