Anyone local got an S1 + Sports Zorst & Hurricane?
Discussion
Seeing as el Beast is in for his C in 2 weeks I'm considering having one of these fitted at the same time.
Problem is before I take the plunge I want to know:
a) What it's gonna sound like with the 'zorst
b) What kind of hit I'm gonna take on ins as a result
Anyone in Kent/Sussex area with this combo who would be nice enough to meet up and take me for a spin so I can have a listen?
I don't want to stick one on if it's gonna give me a headache on motorway journeys (the 'zorst can be a
at times anyway with the roof up).
Also, if anyone can tell me what kind of hit's likely on the ins front for this mod I'd appreciate it, especuially if you're with Adrian Flux (who I'm with).
Cheers, Tim

I've got a hurricane and a Janspeed with cat piepass.
It sounds great with the roof off nailing it over deserted mountain roads.
The hurricane isnt as loud as a K+N but it is suposed to give a tiny bit more power.
Its not going to turn your elise into a ferrari Enzo beater but it will sound nice.

I've got the K&N57i induction kit £55 ish and a Brook Kensington sports exhaust £280 ish, but I've kept the CAT. Can't be bothered with the faffing at mot time. Sounds really good, get a burble and futting on the down change and sounds the bollox on full chat. I love it! The work underground carpark sounds good with it too. If you want proper noisy then put a cat by pass in, sounds better still.
If you do track days be aware I'm registering 98db at the moment so the de cat could push you over noise limits at some circuits. For example, Goodwood have a 98db limit.
As for insurance, I take the attitude that I bought the car second hand and I'm no mechanic. Therefore it all looks standard to me!

I've got an Eliseparts exhaust and K&N57i which sounds the dogs. Fantastic an high revs but not boomy or too intrusive on motorways.
The K&N is cheap and the Eliseparts 'zorst is regarded as the best made aftermarket one you can buy.
Interesting how you describe your car as a 'him'. Mine is most definately a 'her' - tempramental in the mornings, costs a lot to keep but makes you feel great when you slip inside
