Hiya,

Im considering trading my elise in for a new exige.....now I know you can definitely take the roof off Im getting quite tempted.....however...I would really like to play with one for a weekend before deciding...test drives for an hour just aren't very relevant.

Does anyone actually DO this? Every other car manufacturer Ive ever approached has been fine with this - Ive had everything from a Pug 206CC to a 355 for a weekend, but London Lotus and Storm in Leicester have never seemed interested. And to be honest it WILL stop me buying one - partly cos Im not sure how it'll be every day compared to elise (which is my most driven vehicle for obvious reasons) and partly cos it p*sses me off that I can't have one for a decent test!

thoughts?

cheers

I would suggest turning up at the dealers in the Diablo (ensuring plenty of noise on arrival) and drop into the conversation early on that you have a Gallardo on order but want something fun for the weekend.

Tell them you want one for the day or you wont buy one.

If I had one I would gladly offer to swap cars with you (Diablo naturally) for the day

1st Point, as far as Lotus themselves are concerned, the Exige's roof *does not remove* and any warranty claim regards water leaks etc will be rejected (thats the official line)

Regards loan, we have just sold our Black demonstrator, and now we have just about finished moving will be registering a new one very shortly, how quickly are you looking to change? (could do with 1,000 putting up it first! )

Regards extended loan, it is not something we to do not *normally* do, but I shall make enquires with our DP any chance you could mail some contact details through one of our adds in the classifieds?

thanks for the responses guys..

re: diablo...I always feel like a complete tosser using that car to get my way to be honest. Also leaving over 600 bhps worth of toy with curious mechanics isn't alwys a great plan - ive seen Ferris Buellers!!

Mustard - htanks for info. There's no particular hurry. Girly very keen on new exige so very likely purchase, and will email you details as requested.

Ste - have been meaning to get pics of my cars into my profile for ages - will actually get round to it soon, promise!

Nightmare, if you are ever in the Devon area then you can use my exige for the day to see how you get on with it. Bloody good fun but you must promise to give it back. Very addictive.
