Decided to have my Geometry looked at -

Can you lot suggest some good places that can do the job?

Near Manchester would be good but happy to travel for good recomendations.

(and if any one would like to remind me of what I said on the subject of geo checks about a month ago - I remember it to and wish I had kept quiet!)

Cheers :-)

How often should one get this done. My car has got 20K on it, all road miles. Will it be worth putting it in for a check?

yep - I have mine done once a year minimum...you can knock it real easy...also the cars never leave the factory correct...so if its never been done you may find quite a big difference when its sorted

prosport in stockport also do geometry.

or how about kwik fit

on my airfield driving course the instructor mentioned that a proper 150 quid geo was necessary in the first place

after that a 20-30 quid tracking check at kwik fit would suffice

...in which case, Sinclaires in Romford. They did one for me last month and the car felt so taut and pointy afterwards.

Worth every penny, great customer service

Er, whatever you reckon but I'd go to someone who knows the cars. Quite a lot to play with and getting it wrong will completely cock-up the balance of the car... potentially dangerous I'd say.

Sinclaires

Kwik-fit dont even have the settings for the car on their system...my leasing company tried to make me go there and get it done at the same time as tyres...now I goto Sinclaires - a full geo if everything needed adjusting would be near £200...but mostly its just some things need doing and its between £80 and £150

Sinclaires also have a range of geo settings availble depending on how you like the car set-up

Bogie, how often should you get it looked at? I'm currently at about 15K miles over 10 mths from new.
Is it the sort of thing a Lotus dealer would suggest while it is in for new tyres, brakes, service etc.
Being in a similar position to you I want to get as much benefit out of the lease company paying as possible but would imagine they will try to avoid paying if the work isn't at the recommendation of the dealer.

well im only going by what i was told (kwik fit wasnt my suggestion), and i for one would not question the knowledge of the person who told me. if anyone knows how to drive an elise then this person does.

personally i dont fancy paying 150 quid every year at a specialist

as for kwik fit not having the settings: i have the setting when it was set up properly first time around, so i would just use those i guess
