Considering a 111R in Type 25 Colour Scheme
Discussion
Hi everyone,
I’m seriously considering a 111R as my first ever Lotus! I’ve heard lots of positive things about this model, so am getting quite enthusiastic.
So serious in fact, that I’m looking at colours .......
If my nerve holds, I would love BRG with yellow viper-stripes, similar to the Type 25. Reckon I could buy the decals as a spare part (they are decals I hope???) and hey presto! I’m not usually a big fan of stripes, but they seem to really suit the shape and profile of the S2.
I haven’t seen a 25 in the flesh, so any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Here's an alternative solution....
I have a March 2004 Type 25 111S (only 3,500) miles)for sale at 25K (Higher spec than an entry model 111R).
By the time you'd paid for the extras on a 111R(leather, hard top etc etc), you'd be pushing 35 grand! So, if you could live without the Toyota engine, and bought my car, you'd get almost exactly what you wanted and save a whole lot of hassle and 10 thousand pounds. And...it'd be a genuine Lotus limited edition as opposed to a copy with transfers.
Just a thought...
Graham

and save 40 odd BHP at the same time
and 160-200Kg in weight too
...the performance difference is like 0.5sec to a ton...due to increased weight of the Toyota engined car.....Hi Mark,
I've tried several times emailing you pics of my Type 25 111S - maybe your hotmail account is full? Anyhow, its almost identicle to the images that were supplied by other members a few days ago. I believe there were only 50 made, I've never seen another one out on the open road.
Maybe we should dispense with the hi tech, and use the phone?
Sorry about the hassle

I have an original Type 25.....thinking of a new S2 Exige next year in Type 25 colours!!! I'm just waiting to see if they do a supercharged version.....
I'm told the factory do a £1k option for painted stripes.
Personally I'd buy a BRG and have vinyl stripes put on, that way when stripes are out you can revert to BRG if stripes don't help resale.

You would end up looking like Bogie though.
