Help! Alpine CDA-7850R no display?

For no apparent reason display has disappeared, all other functions are still working OK. Have tried dimmer settings and reset button without any luck.
Could it be an internal fuse blown?

p.s. don't let them try to sell you a new face plate at vast expense. Alpine do a fixed price repair apparently, so contact alpine direct if you have any doubts.
