Is that a symptom of needing a geo check - it seems to tramline on the brakes, not necessarily pulling one way or the other, but certainly not seeming to want to go straight

Possibly, but have you checked your front tyres? Pressure, relative wear?

yeah, they are fine amd as I say it doesn't pull one way or the other, just really seems to over-exaggerate the steering input whilst braking hard - not very encouraging!

Its on LSS but it has never been a problem before - think I'll get the geo done next time it is serviced!

Possible suspects.
1, worn out or failed ball joint one one or both front lower control arms.
2, worn track rod end or two in the steering.
3, A sticky piston in one front caliper.
4, Worn rear dampers.
5, excessive front brake bias or weak rear brakes.
6, How much front pad is there?

front pads are fine - I will mention the problem when she comes out of winter hibernation and gets a service (going into a nice warm garage in a fortnight until March)
