All,

Bit of a sad topic but it just might encourage a few good people to join the world of Elise ownership and help the current owners to retain that family member who lives outside or in the garage who just loves a good spanking on the open road now and again, when tiny little feet arive.

Just how many Dads/Mums have an Elise and or other cars?

If you could share:

1 Elise Variant
2 Elise Use/Mode (Prime, Secondary daily/weekend)
3 Other Car(s)
4 Number of Dependants (optional)
4 Proposition for retention (optional)

Let me start us off:

Elise S1 standard 1999 bought Sept 1999,
Used daily as my prime Car.
Family Car - Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport (fits 2 kids the buggy. Can take us away for the weekend including the travel cot)
2 boys 18 months and 4 years old.

The most important car should be the family car offering safe protection to the family. This vehicle needs to be used to transport the children when required. Due to myself always being at work the need for a big car is invalid, thus only one seat is really required QED the Elise is an ideal car. The estate or large family barge is ideal for the transportation of the children.

Cheers

Gary

On yer own there lad?

IIRC we did a demographic check on here a while back and apart from a couple of gents and the ladies (wendy and debbie_jane) the common pattern seemed to be:
- Male
- Late 20's
- Only car
- Fairly frequent use
- IT related career
- Varied music tastes, slant towards hip-hop/alternative/indie.

This could be an interesting one tho as the thread develops!

I fully support you family men keeping the Lotus flag flying though - your kids will love you when they get driven to/from school in the 'liz... amazing kudos. I remember when I was 7 or 8 and one of the Dad's of a mate at primary school used to pick him up in a bright yellow Excel or Eclat (can't remember exactly which). I thought he was the coolest kid in the world! Tim

Amusing thread....

I am 32, father of two, one 25 month old Boy (car mad) and a 7 month old girl.

I have just sold my Sylva Stylus and Golf GTI to fund an S1 Elise which I collect tomorrow..

The family barge is a Mondeo Zetec which is great... The Elise will be my everyday car on the 25 mile commute and my only stipulation was that I could use a child seat if necessary, no problem in the Liz.

Oh, I am a recruitment consultant (ex Ride and Handling Suspension Engineer)

...........25 hours to go...

I'm 30 married, with 4 month old baby girl.

Elise S1 135 ish for commuting and hooning then the wife's got a Seat Leon for carting all the baby clutter about.

It's great taking my daughter out to the shops in the elise and parking in the mother and baby spaces.

Getting all the dirty looks - why is he parking there. then getting the baby seat out of the passenger side!!

32 - Product designer

Married with no kids yet!

Also drive a Fiesta Zetec S and TDCi Focus.

My S1 111s is a ridiculous extravagance but if I'm asked to "get rid" when the patter of tiny feet are heard they'll have to prise the keys out of my cold, dead hand!

Who needs food and new clothes anyway!
