Hi there does anybody know of any companies that manufacture S1 hard tops?

Especially ones that can do them in any colour.

Cheers

Check on Ebay, search under 'Lotus Elise' there's a chap selling them for £850, haven't seen one, the ad sounded good!

Hi Iain,

I have an S1 hard top which i want to sell. It is in Azure Blue and is an original Lotus part with Charcoal grey headlining. I also have the Lotus hard top bag for hanging it on the wall in the garage.

If this is of any use, email me with an offer.

Cheers,

Mark B

Some of the after market hard tops look like a two year old has made them.

I'd go for a Lotus hardtop as you can get a decent second hand one for less than a new aftermarket one.

Look in the classifieds here on Pistonheads - always ones around for sale.

What colour do you want?

I looked quite hard at this for a while. The non-lotus ones are universally thought to be rubbish. The Lotus ones fit well, however there is still no gaurantee that it will keep you dry! Some people suggest that they can be worse than the soft top

The hard top leaks far more than the soft top on my S1 and it's a genuine Lotus roof.

Mine leaks less than my soft top - you can adjust the windows etc but to be honest I just can't be ar$ed.

Can you? Owdyoudothatthen? I was just going to stick some bits of foam on the top of the front part of the windows.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have finally managed to secure a stunning black elise today and wat's more it comes with a hard top so the search is over.

Cheers

This is the size of my grin.

I can't stop thinking / dreaming about driving it, does this ever go away as I am getting knackered now due to lack of sleep. I wish I had got one years ago.

S Works

I have to say I was looking for a black or silver one and boy am I glad I got a black one, I love it.

I even had my wife say I wish we had bought one years ago.

The best comment I have had so far is when I went back to my old work place - "he must be doing well, they cost about £50k don't they".

Can't wait for the summer.

Good effort old chap - toptip, get some Meguiars 3 step to keep the car in top condition. Black paintwork is a b*stard to keep clean trust me! Also if you don't have amorfend fitted on the front and it's not stonechipped, get it done. Black shows up scratches and chips really badly.

Pleased the wife is happy too - wait until you start spending cash on it though for final judgement.

Enjoy mate, don't wait for summer - get yourself a nice wooly hat and whenever its sunny and dry get her topless and spank her @rse off.... you could always take the 'liz out too
