Driver Improvements - Any Advice ?
Discussion
People,
Bought my first Elise (a millenium edition S1) earlier this year and am having just the most fun ever driving it.
Early nest year I am condsidering some of the recomended upgrades as detailed on this site BUT it occurs to me that I should look to upgrade myself first.
Any recomendations on Track days, Driver training or otherwise.
Cheers.

Agreed - did a mixed day with Andy (2 Elise's and 2 Impreza's) - great fun and you learn an awful lot. It also makes you realise just how much there is to know about driving technique. Andy is very good driver and managed to get across a fair bit during the day. Recommended.

After a recent... er... exciting moment in my 111r involving a (thankfully deserted) wet road, and a complementary patch of spilled diesel, I'm quite interested in getting some tuition, especially as the Elise is the first mid-engined car I have owned. A driving career comprised of owning front-engine RWD cars (MGB) with occasional forays into family members' FWD econoboxes (Audi A4) dosn't really constitute good preparation for proper handling of a mid-engined pocket rocket.
I'm interested in hearing tutor recommendations, as I'd like someone to go through on-road Elise car control and also track-day performance driving with me. Idealy, I need someone within reasonable striking distance of Manchester, and who is capable of turning a decidedly average oaf of a driver into a track-day god

is a must... in terms of value for money top of the class. £150 for a 4 person day
If you join SELOC you will get a discount on your 1st day.
After a session or 2 you may like to experiance a difference approach, if so then speak to Don.. but expect to pay around £500
The other way to learn more about your car at the limit is to do some track days.
