Any special things to look for? Should it be fine at any old MOT tester, or is it worth going to a Lotus dealer, or Lotus friendly garage?

I had mine done recently (also a 98 S) only thing was the track rod ends were suspect but it passed.

I take mine to ATS locally and hang around to watch - the car gets treated like a celebrity by the guys there.

99 S1, I have completed 3 MOT's at the normal MOT stations. The MOT guys love em. Not much to look for i.e. no corrosion. All the Track rods, Suspension ... visible.

I am like you MOT is like a Final exam and I can't sleep the night before (had a mini van many years ago. Gained twice it's wieght and was one degree of terminal every MOT).

Saying that DVO failed its last MOT. Headlight adjustment!

I know Steve Williams in Maidenhead 01628 770066 willbe able to do MOT's soon give him a call.

relax and Good luck.

Mine had the headlight adjustment problem too. Full marks to the tester for almost ripping his forearm to shreds trying to reach the adjustment thingy (sorry for the technical term).

Also had much amusement as he told me incredulously that there were no brake servos as though I'd taken them off and hidden them somewhere!

In the end he gave up risking permanent scarring trying to get to bits that are hidden from view by the undertray and passed it based on it being in perfect nick everwhere else!

Actually I think I made the poor guy's day as he must get bored stiff examining endless GM/Ford clones day in day out.

Passed with no issues at all, even emmissions were fine with the sports cat.
