Hi there people, I'm a newbie here and also do not yet own a Lotus.

I am in the market for an Elise S2 and I thought I had found the perfect one until I asked about the "full service history". The car in question is an 02 plate Sports Tourer with 12,000 miles on the clock.

I thought the service schedule was as follows:

After sales service: 1000 miles or 12 months
A: 9000 miles or 12 months
A: 9000 miles or 12 months
B: 9000 miles or 12 months
A: 9000 miles or 12 months
A: 9000 miles or 12 months
C: 9000 miles or 12 months

The guy told me the car has had the AS service and then only been serviced once at 5800 miles and didnt sound to sure about the servicing intervals (he said every 10,000 miles and not age related). The car's two years old so should it tecnically have had 2?

Is my research correct or is that the S1 schedule, thanks in advance people!

Technically it should have had 2 yearly services then due to age, but hes had one at 6K miles - and so should have had another after another 12 months or 9K miles...wouldnt worry about it myself - its just an oil change anyway

Yeah, not a big deal. Find out where it was last serviced and have a look at the paperwork. If it all checks out then you can factor in the price of an A service when bargaining if you like it.

Better still have him get the A done before you buy and pay them to do a full check on the car while it's in for your peace of mind. Should only cost a couple of hundred quid for both seeing as half the service is doing checks anyway.

If all checks out ok you're laughing.

thanks for your replies guys, the car was serviced by a Lotus main dealer. Main thing I was worried about is can it be called a Full Service History (when technically it has missed a service) Personally it doesn't bother me but I dont want to have something difficult to sell on.

If its serviced now, as suggested, then you have it done on schedule, it will be a totally acceptable FLSH.
