Port matching the manifolds will definitely help but you will only see more gains when combined with bigger cams and higher rpm. Polishing should only be done on the exhaust ports.
Common on K-series cars like the 111S, not heard of it being done on the Toyota engined 111R though as its already quite high power for the specific output so most go the supercharging route.
