mmm...dont accelerate in the wet unless the front wheels are in a straight line period ...well thats the safest way !
Hmm, also be careful when it's wet and greasy in a straight line. Even with my 118hp and sports zorst I've had the back end fishtail in a straight line when I've been over eager on the throttle. Nearly had to change my Calvins after that "moment".

Am I getting over confident or what should I be checking? Tyres seem ok but Im no expert.
You're going to have an accident, slow down.

Take it easy until the weather improves. None of us wants to be the next Elise winter casualty. Think of those glorious spring and summer mornings which will be upon us in just a few months when you'll be up early with the hose a sponge and the Autoglym or Meguiars before going out to get the Sunday papers the very, very long way round!
Then think about what that Sunday morning would be like if you didn't have the Elise...
I think every one would agree that, in good conditions, the elise is a very communicative car. It lets you know what it's doing and what it is about to do. The limit seems broad enough to make corrective inputs when things start moving. I've never needed to second guess what is about to happen because the car lets you know!
However, it seems that most of this can go out the window when the conditions are poor - greasy roads, standing water etc. At this point it seems "anything goes" even at low speeds and one would be well advised to drive with the attidue that "just about anything could happen round the next bend if I'm being silly!"
Simple answer - don't be silly. I tend to adopt a defensive driving style against these greasy conditions - they won't last forever and we can all get back out and start having real fun again!
Take care out there

P.S car in for MOT as I type, I feel like an expectant father!!!

would say its been very, very dicey for the last coupla weeks in the mornings....nearly binned mine yesterday morning accelerating in 3rd from about 50...back broke awway slightly (standard car)....very rare it does that.
1st Lotus great as suggested....but I would think that it's as much anticipation of the ground conditions as anything else at the moment. There are parts of my drive to work that dont see sunshine until at least 11am...so you can come off a bone dry, sun warmed road onto 'near ice' very easily....
