As its ur second car you will have trouble finding a company who will use ur NCB, as you can only use it on one car at a time ( in most cases ).

Yep - same here.

I've just bought an Elise and couldn't use my NCB from other car (9yrs).

I assume it's to stop people insuring say three cars all with named drivers and all of them being in use at once by the named drivers rather than the one with the NCB.

I went through AON, who insured the Elise as a classic on a limited mileage for £616. You have to give details of your main car and insurer.

Hope this helps.......

I know for my Cerbera, soon to be an S2 Elise, I do get an allowance for the amount of NCB I have, also if you can have it on a limited mileage policy, that keeps the costs down. Have a look at moving your NCB onto the Elise if you have a 'sensible' everyday car as it maybe more of a saving.

If you can put up with the restrictions (2nd car, garaged, limited mileage, non-refundable etc) then a future classic policy from someone like ClassicLine www.classiclineinsurance.co.uk/ has been good for me.

I had the same problem as you and was annoyed that you cant use the NCB for both cars- why not? i insure through Bell Direct (sister company of Elephant and Admiral) and placed all my NCB onto the elise, when i tried to insure the Astra they told me i'd have to start from 0, however the nice lady said "we'll see what we can do as you have a nother policy running with us" and in the end they also gave me the full NCB on the Astra. Give them a try.
Good luck

Try Tesco, they were cheapest 1st year for me, although when I went to renew a year later, Elephant were £200 cheaper, so I swapped.
