Just thought I would say thanks to the posts I have read with interest over the last few months. Finally took the plunge and took delivery of a 340R 2 weeks ago. I couldnt wait for the first weekend to arrive only to have 4 inches of snow on the drive last Saturady - Oh well. Common sense kicked in and I waited till the roads were clear on Monday. Then desparate to try the new toy, I ditched the comfort of the "sensible car" and took the 340R the 15 miles to work. What a blast! I think the adrenalin kicked in because I never felt the cold and couldn't stop grinning. What fun :-)
Shall I keep it in the garage until summer - NOoooooo !
Good Bye Mr Sensible - Hello Lotus enthusiast.

Is this the first Lotus you've owned?

That's an amazing car - congrats. Excuse my ignorance, but on a practical note (newbie S1 owner) - what keeps your head dry in this weather?

Anyway - 340R is awesome!

Thank you for your comments
Yes, First Lotus
With regard to keeping dry its all a combination of going just fast enough and aerodynamics. Well maybe not ! I guess its a bit like sledging when your a kid - you ignore the cold and wet if your having enough fun.
Yesterday, I was expecting the neighbours to consider having me certified, but when I saw one go out in his TVR and the other leant over the fence to let me know that he had a part built Westfield in the garage I guess I am in good company.(We are all a bit mad)
I really must consider some wet weather wheels and tyres though.
My second childhood is just starting !

Good choice. Did you get it from a dealer or a private sale?

Best to think of a 340R as a motorbike with 4 wheels rather than a car so you use it more.
