I have a S2 111s and as of yesterday the stereo seems to to have developed a gremlin. Its the standard Blaupunkt San Remo and it has taken to switching off then on when i press a station pre-set, switching itself on when off and not switching off properly (ie not showing the clock in off mode).

any ideas anyone?
or is it becuase the original lotus warranty was due to expire this month, but the gremlins havnt realised that wilsons extended it till august!!!

Hello mate,
sounds like the unit is duff! but might not be covered under warrenty as the head unit will come with its own 12 month cover? try and see what they say! GOOD LUCK.

Had a similar problem with mine (and would turn off when accelerating) - the contacts on the back of the 'face-off' part were dirty, cleaned them and all OK now.

Check the conections that plug in at the back of the stereo and into the wiring loom as it sounds like a loose connection on the live or ground.

Evening...
thanks for the tips guys.....got the next 4 days off (shift worker) so will look at the areas suggested. Also I really want to get the ITG Maxogen induction system on thats been sitting in the garage since before xmas!! I can see a trip to Halfords for a trolley jack on the horizon.

hello mutt
On the S2 111s there is a resonator box attached to the induction system, and the mounting for this is only accessible from inside the wheelarch.......unless anyone can tell me different???
