Er...Lotus?

Actually, the standard aluminium pedals that you get free with every Elise are presumably made by Hydro aluminium, who make the rest of the extruded aluminium sections in the car. The pedals are a particularly artful and clever but of design, though.

So, I, er, presume, you don't actually know who makes them then?

Just for interest the S1 designer Julian Thompson loved the design of the S1 accelarator pedal so much he wanted one made into a telephone handset for his desk. Not sure if he did or not but would be tres cool.

Just a bit of mindless trivia for a Friday morning!

The reason I ask is that I'm looking for a set of replacement pedals for (deep breath, swallow) a VX220 turbo and I'm trying to establish who makes the pedals, whether or not they are the same as the Elise, and whether or not they are commercially available other than through a dealer at dealer's prices.

No-one on the VX forum seems to know.

Thanks

Eric

You'll be lucky - Hydro make the ally extrusions for Lotus (Lotus design/copyright etc), that means that you can only buy them thru' Lotus or their agents.
