My 2002, 40K mile S2 Race Tech, which i have owned past year has tested my patience and skill.

I think this is the first time the wheels/disks have been stripped for a long time - nightmare. Every nut, bolt including the disk & wheel was siezed to it's contacting component. the biggest problem was the countersunk screw holding the disk to the hub, could i get it to move - not a chance, tried everthing, finally had to drill it out.

I have only been able to change one side over the weekend, nearside next.

My advise to owners who have a similar age mileage and are not sure of there condition, then i recommend you do it now, and service the lot. If you find that things are not going to plan then give it someone else to do.

good advice....the wheels are supposed to come off evey 9K mile service for a brake inspection, and get some copper slip on them then.

Pads n disks dont seem to last me long enough for them to rust on ...about 15-20K miles !...but when you fit new ones, use some coppa slip on them too

Yes you are right - bought the car from a known dealer with all the stamps etc - i have only driven the car 3'500 since bought.... They should have been ok. The pads and calipers where ok, still had bad corrosion on the studs but did'nt put up to much of a fight and cleaned up well.
