I love my 111 S2 to bits and drive it every day come sun or snow which seems to be happening regularly recently (especially up here in Edinburgh).
Just this morning I enjoyed an eventful trip to work; opposite lock even then the road is straight!
This morning was well worth it.... A 4x4 cut me up and proceeded to burn off enjoying his 4x4. Come the next round about, I passed the same 4x4 trying to separate its self from the scenery.

Any more foolhardy owners out there?

Im up in Edinburgh too with my S2, after getting completely stuck in the snow last time (in Oxgangs and my first day driving the car I might add). The Elise stays in the garage when its snowing! And yeah its my only car so it's bus/train/run to work.

Picked my exige S2 up from its first service last Wednesday and set out for the 10 miles journey home just as it started to snow quite hard.

First steep hill I came to the snow was beginning to settle but driving at a snails pace got me home in one piece, though perhaps not endearing me to other road users!

Still Sunday made up for it - blue skies, dry roads and use of full revs at last!

"not sure about snow/A048's" .....jeez ...if you want the car in one piece, I would recommend a 2nd set of std wheels/tyres for winter use ! .....the A048s dont like standing water let alone anything colder

I'm fine, bruises have gone. I'm waiting for the accident inspector to come and have a look but its borderline between repair or replace. I'll post more on Friday once its been inspected.

andi - where is the car...its not in sinclaires is it? ...sure the best option would be 'replace'....much quicker turnaround on payout = you getting back in anice new 111R sooner

It's at Elite Cars in Cambridge. Ideally i'd like a replacement but its not my choice - unless I don't understand the insurance rules properly. If you have any specific advice on such matters drop me a mail. I have only been without it a week and i'm already pacing round the house frustrated that I don't get a daily dose of elise driving.

Well i had planned a trip to basingstoke up the a303 to pick up my new bike( see biker banter).
My girlfriend is a pretty competant driver so i have her on my insurance. She managed to get behind the wheel for a short trip on the friday so i thought i would see if she fancied driving back from basingstoke whilst i rode the bike. Forecast was dry and clear, if a little cold. When we arrived in Basingstoke the snow was coming down rather heavy and i wasnt looking forward to my trip home. 140 miles in heavy snow on a new to me bike. I must say my girlfriend did a sterling job driving back even though it took us 3 1/2 hours, normally 1 1/2. I ought to let her have a proper drive now!

Exige in the snow is scary enough - a bike must be plain terrifying!

Elise and snow.. No problem!

Although it does start to resemble a snowplough after a while

But I'm cheating a bit as my car is on snow/winter tyres

Bye, Arno.
