Has anyone had experience of their Stage 2 exhaust falling foul of noise regs on track days? I want to head up to the Bedford Autodrome this spring, so any advice appreciated.

From what I gather the stage 2 will definately be too loud for Bedford. I think the stage 2 is something like 105db at 4,000 revs so falls foul of a lot of tracks.

If you are planning on doing a few trackdays you would be better off with the Stage 1

Thanks, that's a shame - not that I'm planning an endless stream of track days, but having been a mobile chicane for Exige / Elise drivers in my previous car I'm looking forward to turning the tables just a little (underlying driver ability notwithstanding).

I'll have to listen carefully to both types and see if I can live without the full on Stage 2 sound, as I don't particularly want to experiment with baffles.

Get a Stage one and induction kit...brilliant. If anyone can tell Mrs fish where and how to host video with sound I'll record a clip...

IMO if you can afford a new Exige / 111R then you can afford to splash out on both a Stage 1 AND Stage 2 exhaust. Just swap them over for track days. Should only take half an hour if you are handy with a set of spanners.

They seem to be very good value for a genuine Lotus part at 'only' £350.

I dont think I could live with a quiet Elise / Exige so would be tempted to buy both. You can always flog one and get your money back.
