Hi all

It’s my first post on this forum after lurking around for a while now. I've owned my Elise for almost 6 months, but spent less time in it than I'd hoped due to work commitments and 2 kids vying for my attention. The crappy weather up here in Lancs for the last few months hasn’t helped either!

Despite that, owning Lizzy (my son’s name for her) has been a great experience so far. Looking out of my office window at home and - better still - climbing behind the wheel for a quick blat with the roof off still gets the adrenaline flowing as it did when I had my first test drive.

Talking of which, the sun is shining, the car is clean and it’s getting towards that time of the day on a Friday when I can’t be arsed to do any more work.

Anyone else tempted to drop everything and head out? Go on, you know you want to…

Cheers!

Apart from driving her at every opportunity (my new resolution) I have a list as long as my arm of mods/improvements for the next 3-6 months. Isn't it strange how you finally get the car you want, and then you want more out of it?

Anyhow, high up on my list is as much driver training as possible! I've heard that Andrew Walsh is the man to contact - does anyone have any other recommendations?

Nope, Andy's the man... still need to sort some time out with him myself.

Don Palmer is also highly regarded but I would go with Walshy as he specialises in Elises.

Hi, Lee

If you see an ardent red 111r around Manchester/Bolton/Preston, wave 'cos it's probably me

Nice car. Good idea to get some training - but is there anyone closer to Lancashire than Andy? IIRC, its either down south or Scotland?

Ditto Karl. Red suits the S2 very well IMHO.

I'm not too fussed about having to travel to get some good driver training. Gives me a good excuse to escape from work/wife/kids for a bit

If I see another Elise it's usually a big thumbs up from me

Apart from the waving and all that, it's always good fun when you get that 'nice car mister' from a group of lads when you drive past. Reminds me of one night last week - I was stopped at a petrol station just putting the roof back on (well it was dark AND pretty cold) when a group of 4 lads walked past and asked me if I could give them all a lift to Preston! I pissed myself laughing all the way home

Boggy - nice 111R mate. I've purposely NOT test driven one as I'm fearful that it'll make me yearn for one over my 111S

Looking forward to seeing the bigger pics soon. Let's hope the weather co-operates this weekend!
