I've almost looked everywhere on the web, but none tell about soft top for elise/exige. The Exige one is the same of 111R.....

The roof does come off the Exige. It invalidates the warranty but only as far as the car being water tight goes. If you take the roof off and the engine blows you will still be covered.
Apparently Bell & Colville have done a soft top for the Exige.
Personally I wouldnt bother. If its a nice day just take the top off and put back on when you get home. That's pretty much what I do now with my hard top anyway.

Hi, I wasn't aware that you can put a soft top on an exige. From memory the hard top does come off but it's not recommended that you drive the car in this state.
You are definittly right,
is not recommended, but how can you live without the sun ????
how can you be happy if you don't fell the sound of the engin and the blow of the wind !!!! because of the warranty ???!!!!
may be.....

Thanks a million !!
I sent an e-mail to Bell & Colville because I cannot find anything on the web site.
Anyway the warranty thing it's an odd one:
when you take off the roof more air comes to the engine. Infact the upper scoop of the roof is colosed and when you take it off you increased air intake because the second part of the the scoop is opended.
I'll keep on doing what you do with your hard top ( by drilling 7 holes
), but if I want to spend some days around, than it's better to have something to cover..... just in case the weather getting worst !!! And probably an umbrella is not the best solution !!!!
Because then I should look for a hard top !!!
Anyway I checked the warranty, and nothing is said about invalidation.
On the other side, on the owners manual is written that due to the airflow of the engine bay & the downforce of the rear and front spoiler, "the Exige" SHUOLD NOT be driven without the roof panel correctly mounted".
That's fine for me:
it means that I can PARK without roof and when I'll join a track day..... I'll take my roof on !!!

taking the roof of, would ruin the "laminar flow" (or in lay terms the way the airflow sticks to the shape it is following, when this is disrupted- the air is turbulent) of the air on the rear of the car, meaning it is likely the rear spoiler would not generate much (if any) downforce, as it is in fact a wing, which performs best when the air approaching it is uniform rather than turbulent.
From a handling perspective, if the exige is set up to generate certain down force on the rear (from the wing) and a certain amount from the front (front splitter) if the front has extra downforce, but the rear does not, you could assume that at 9/10ths. and 10/10ths around a track, the car would oversteer more easily as the front wheels may have more grip than the rears..
naturally... this is in theory.. would love to stick wool tufts all over the car and take pics of it driving.. to verify..
