I'm unable to start my Elise S1.. any suggestions?

It's been garaged in dry and cool (not cold) conditions for 6 months. It was functioning perfectly before storage. I've installed a new battery, which appears to be fully charged. The alarm/immobilizer disengages fine. Fuel gauge shows 18L (Euro model). On turning the ignition key, it goes through the usual power-up sequence of electronics and the fuel pump whirrs into life. All appears normal. On turning the ignition key further to engage the starter motor, there's a rapid 'tack-tack-tack-tack' noise, which sounds like a relay switching rapidly. I'm guessing it's the multi-function relay unit next to the ECU; the sound is coming from that area.

Any ideas? I'm a long way from the nearest Lotus dealer. Thanks.

Sounds like low battery??? You could try push starting it just to be sure...

You may have a loose connection on the battery etc.

Thanks guys - I've got it started by a jump start. It seems like I've got a faulty battery charger. After 12 hours of charging it indicated the battery was fully charged, when it's now clear that is wasn't.
