Guys, I bought a 2005 111s from the dealer 1st of march.
It has only done 900 miles and is black/blackleather, perfect in every way, and now I might have to sell it due to a new job.

Do you think by selling this privately I could avoid losing my money on this?
I have effectivley just carefully ran it in for some lucky so and so....

Cheers

if you try to sell it to a dealer, then you are only going to get list price, minus margin that was on it, minus margin they want to make on it, minus the VAT ...so you could lose thousands

If you sell privately, it may take a little longer, but you should get much more....make sure you price it £1500-2000 less than what a nearly new one is in a dealer, then you should get people interested - if its too close to a dealer price, most people will go to a dealer.

If you bought it new then you'll probably lose £3500 to £4000, nearly new then £1500-2000 as Bogie suggested.

What's the impact of the job? Less cash, foreign travel, emigration?

If you're taking the hit anyway and don't suddenly need the cash, and you will still have an opportunity to use the car (albeit infrequently) then there are much worse ways to spend your spare cash and unwind at the weekends!

I suspect from you're opening statement you know what to do.
