S2 Larini Exhausts in Bournemouth
Discussion
While my car is in the workshop soon having a new rear clam fitted it has been suggested that it would be a good time to upgrade to a sports exhaust system:thumbup:. The car is a standard S2 (MY 04).
The system that everyone seems to be advising me to get is the Larini sports system. Even the guy at the repair centre said that they put one in another car recently and it was the business, I must say from the pictues i have seen so far the quality look incredible, and whenever i hear other poeples comments they always seem to be positive.
My main question is that my wife, who likes the car as it is, is worried about it being too loud (Im not that bothered my self). Does anyone in the Bournemoth area have or know of anyone that has the system fitted, so we could possibly meet and listen to it before we take the plunge. I think that we may have followed a few cars with them on and it does sound very nice, (according to the missus as well as me).

I've just put a Larini back box (i.e. kept standard cat) on my S2 (MY04) 111S.
Brilliant
In fact, the noise is (I don't think) not much greater volume over the standard exhaust - it's the type of noise that is so much better.
When I chatted to Larini they suggest to go for the back box, then if I wanted more noise after that, buy the sports cat.
I use my car every day, including commuting, and with just the back box it is just right - at low revs it's not inhibiting or annoying, but when you want to push it along a B-Road with the roof off, it's spot on!!
I can't recommend it highly enough!
I live in North Kent but will actually be down at Bell and Colvill (to drop my car off for a week) on Saturday morning - I'll more than happily take you for a quick blat then if you want to pop up (though it really will have to be quick as I need to get home pronto!).
