Swimming pool in an Elise.

Kinda.
The boots full of water. It rained its arse off for a solid day. The boot carpet is soaked. Any idea (apart from the H20) what caused it? Has anyone had similar problems?
I can't imagine it comes up from the arches? Or is it just that the body can't drain the water away quick enough?
Hmmmmm.

yup i've had this.
it's the drain hole beside the boot latch. (as you open the boot, the hole is just nearer to you than the latch is) I put a length of wire down it to clear it. the angle at the top is quite tight so you need something a bit flexible.
job done.

er....water run-off blocked somewhere? boot seal rotted/not fitted right/not sealing propely? big hole in the boot lid?? I'm sure that some water in is expected, but it shouldn't be like you've described Im sure.
That said, the astonishing cloudbursts over the last few weeks might well be a problem!

my demo car had this. there's a small pipe that runs from the hole in the lip that runs around the outside of the boot/engine cover. If that pipe comes off, water runs in to the boot rather than drain down through the pipe (which just feeds down to the floor). Check that pipe hasn't come undone.
All I did to dry mine was take it for a blast so the engine was nice and hot, then leave the boot open in the garage over night for a couple of nights, job done

Mine was the drainage channel/pipe.
easy way to tell is after it has been raining open the boot and see if the channel around the edge of the boot is completely full of water, if it is, its been overflowing into the boot causing the water ingress.
nice and cheap to sort out!

Yep, deffo the drain hole near the boot catch. This used to happen on El Beast I.
Easily sorted. Open the boot, reach inside (best done from an angle where you can look towards the back of the clam) and you'll feel the kind of "U" bend. Pull it out (typical Lotus pap) and you'll be able to unclog it.
If you can, get the pipe out and give it a damn good blow too
which should unclog the silt in that too. If not an unwound wire coathanger will help
