The time has come to sell my elise.

I spent the savings on the elise prior to building a house extension (much to the disappointment of my wife) so I’ve had my 3 months of fun and now its time to sell the elise and start on the building work.

Question is. The guy I bought the elise from was reluctant to give a test drive without me having full insurance cover. If you have sold or were to sell your elise would you insist on the buyer turning up with a cover note prior to a test drive?

Tough one. If it was a 17 year old chav who looked like he was just after a free drive then yes.

Other than that if they seem genuine and sensible then I wouldnt (and didnt) bother.

Test drives are usually short and you dont get to give the car a proper screwing anyway so just make sure they drive relatively sensibly.
