You know you're getting something special when the dealer says "they have finished building it now and it is on its way to us" ;-)

Just wanted to say thanks for all the excellent content on this forum. I have been lurking for a while toying with the idea of an Elise and making descisions on things like model, air-con or not, the value of having a hard top and methods for short wives to reach the pedals and see over the windscreen (preferably at the same time!).

The end result of all of this is that in 5 days time I will be taking delivery of an S2 111S. It is just like Christmas!

I am sure I will have loads more questions and will make sure to post some pics. Looking forward to a long hot summer...

Thanks. Finally chose Nightfall Blue with Biscuit leather, not an easy descision especially after seeing a lovely Yellow S2 with black wheels. Also decided that Air-con was a must although it pushed the budget a bit.

Also happy that the 111S now comes with all the Touring Pack trim and a hard-top which will come in handy as this will be my only car and the hard-top will probably be in place for most of the winter.

Kind of intrigued about what will happen now Rover have gone under about spares and servicing for the engine.

One question: How long will it take to run in?

Piccies to follow soon.

Anyone in the Bristol area next Tuesday watch out for a newbie Elise driver on the M5 between Swindon and Bristol with a massive smile on his face, driving very slowly and carefully ;-)

You made the right decision on the aircon - I nearly opted out thinking that I'd just remove the roof... Parked up at City Airport yesterday and returned back to the car nearly passing out - kept roof on, cooled down and then took the roof off when I'd recovered!

Hope you like your new car... Rob.

My sentiments exactly, so glad i went for aircon. The black leather & roof just soaks up the heat & as you say "nearly pass out" when returning to the car!

Pussy? Who you calling a pussy? I'll kick you butt... right after I've cooled down a little with my aircon and had a sit down for a bit if that's ok with a nice g&t
