:type: I have, in the past, received questionable service from my local official Lotus dealer. Don't want to give them any more of my money for work they "say" they've done. I wont give details, but for the money they charge it's disgusting!

So, I found Westover Sportscars in Poole and wondered who, on here, has used them. I have an 'A' service booked with them next month while my motors still in it's last month of warranty. I'm heading down that way to see a mate who live's near by and so i'll stay at his overnight.

To avoid getting anyone into trouble with the no naming and shaming policy, if you have any negative comments / experiences, please e-mail them to me through my profile.

Very much appreciated, thank-you Dorset PH.

absolute pleasure to deal with and they even clean & polish your car for you!

Very helpful, i had some goodies fitted earlier this month and we started talking about exhausts, they even checked the cars in the car park to see which had what so i could listen to them. one word = outstanding.

Right then, fairly conclusive!
Cheers Guys. They're about £70-£80 cheaper than B&C in West Horsley for an 'A' service.
So I'm still booked in for the 2nd week of August

Fibreglass Services are excellent and will be cheaper than Westover.

They're a full blown dealer so nice stamp in the book too.

A service comes in at under £100, B is not much more and a C around £260. You really can't go wrong!!

Your not wrong! Booked it up for the 1st, Cheers mate, i owe you a drink. Half what Westover were charging and a third what B&C were charging!

Main Agents!
They don't even wear a stocking on thier heads when they rob you!

fibreglass services how is this £100 service possible??
book time for said service is 2.8hrs + .5 for brake fluid. That alone that at advertised rate is £115.50 +vat with no parts! how long does it take do a service? 20mins!!!

Probably because Miles charges for what he actually does, not what the book says it needs.

is his opinion what is required? is it only oil & filter?
*in my opinion* i would be most upset if i did not get the full underbody spanner check and 12 month brake fluid change, this is even described on the sevice sheets in the hand book?
If this was not done how would your warranty stand?

Are you a troll or what?

Miles will check everything on the sheet, he doesn't cut corners. The guy has been working with Lotus' since way back, has written books on the marque, fibreglass etc. and basically what he doesn't know ain't worth knowing. He basically keeps his costs down (I suspect) because he works out of an old school workshop (not some flash place with nice coffee and w@nky sofa's), with one other guy (Ian - equally as competent and a very nice chap to boot).

Fibreglass Services (if you check your service book) is a franchised, recognised official Lotus Sales and Service agent so basically you're getting the stamp at specialist prices.

Maybe you're right (speaking from a position of apparent total ignorance).... or maybe hundreds of satisfied customers and Lotus themselves are wrong?

Or maybe you'd like to tell us which TVR, Ferrari, Lotus dealers you work at, what your job is and how much you charge for the same work? Trolling perhaps because you see this as a threat to your potential customer base??? I think we should be told...

Firstly, let me correct yours maths. At a labour rate of £35ph, a 2.8 hour job would be £98, not £115.50 - I'm starting to see why main agents charge so much

As S Works says Miles at Fibreglass Services is a pillar of the Lotus community and knows his onions when it come sto all Lotus cars so you've picked the wrong guy to criticise here. He charges for the time he needs to do the service, not what the book says. When you arrive the car goes straight on the ramp and the undertray is coming off as he tells you about the latest lunacy dictated by Malasyia!

The service is slick and you always get a top notch job - mixed in with old school banter.

I guess you work at Westover as they are the only dealer in Dorset?
