S2 - Short Roof / Long Roof
Discussion
I used to have an S1 and the roof annoyed me. I am not looking for an S2 and i was under the impression that the roof had been redesigned (similar to the VX220) however some people have mentioned that this is not the case - i saw a sports tourer last week and that had the new roof, do all the S2's not?
All S2 roofs are a vast improvment over the S1 roof.
The later type S2 roofs and VX roofs (short roofs) are the easiest to remove, they just roll off sideways basically.
Whereas the earlier S2 long roofs are the same but have two tails that go down over the roll over bar and are tension by two little levers (no bloody allen keys to mess around with).
I have the long roof S2 and was surprised by how easy and quick it is.

Early S2s have "long roofs" with two extensions that hook back over the flying butresses around the engine.
Later S2s have a simpler, rectangular roof. This is the version to go for. You can remove it from inside the car at a traffic light, and installation is almost as easy. It is, at last, a good design.
