Tyres on a S2

My S2 has Avon tyres on the back. Someone told me that they were greatly inferior to the Brigestone tyres that should be on there. Is this true and if so just how much better would the bridgestones be? Also howmuch would a new set cost?

Also is Bridgestone the only option?

I've kept with Bridgestones. Cost around £250 for a couple of rears. Some people have Yokohama's or Pirellis. It's down to preference and use really.

I like stuff matching - so Bridgestones all round for me.

Never heard of anyone fitting Avons to an S2. What size are they?

The standard tyre is the Bridgestone Potenza RE040 225/45/R17 but I know a lot of people who favour the Toyo T1-R - though it does have a bit of a sidewall flex issue compared to the Bridgestones.
