how to hard wire a snooper

how do - i want to dhar wire my radar detector into my elise. the wire running across the dash and into the lighter socket just looks cr*p!

best bet for wires to splice into? was thinking of the stereo as i'll be fitting an new one anyway....

Fot my Road Angel I took it to a local car audio fitter. Charged a tenner. Worth it as Im hopeless.. Thye had the stereo out and wired it around there somewhere...HAve the cable now in the right hand corner of the dash, to tricky to keep taking it in and out when in the centre of dash..

so yours in now just on teh drivers side?

can you see it ok? just next to the binical?

Yes its sound, was worried that it should be in centre but company confimed works just as well next to binnacle..Easy to remove as wel, lots of cars broken into where I live for them..

i take it they had to drill thru the dash to put it in?

I fitted mine by removing the steering column shroud and then removing a bit of the insulation off the ignition live that comes on when you turn the key to the second position.

Soldered a fuse holder onto the cable then used a bit of self amalgamating tape around the connection, then soldered the snooper cable to the other end of the fuse holder.

No more dangling wires and it looks ok.
