Guys,

Apologies if this has already been posted...

Interesting that the top pic is actually an M250, but pictures below very interesting...especially as they hint at two engine options.

Can't wait to read reviews of this car.

Actually, I didn't like the first shots from Autoexpress (or whatever it's called) but the more I see the car, the more I like it...

But i guess for pure driving thrills the exige will come first.
And it seems to be not better from 0-60.
But it's to early to say these things.

i'm starting to worry about this car if its being built in malaysia an going to be sold as a proton aswell..........
this could result in a very sub standard car as everything i have seen with a proton badge on it has been rubbish, if its a case of shipping it to old blightly and sticking a nice lotus badge on i for one wont be impressed, i dont mind them spinning a proton off a lotus but spinning a lotus off a proton thats just pushing to far

Lotus designed the thing as a Lotus - surely they are spinning off a proton from a Lotus?

I'll be surprised if that Proton is available from UK dealers.

I wonder what people over here who have actually have put deposits down were told they would get?

It makes me laugh that they are still using pics of the M250, probably the best looking car Lotus NEVER made.

quite why they coul'nt have just dropped the m250 body onto this escapes me, sure we heard all about the re engineering world car etc? but surely that was just the mechanic's side of it and even if some body changes were required i'm sure they could have kept the car looking near enough the same if they wanted so the question is y did'nt they as although this looks ok i think the m250 cut a better figure

I agree with Peter. If they were being smart, they could have released this GT as a Proton (I still think it will be) but stuff an M250 body onto the same platform and release it as a Lotus, with different suspension settings and higher BHP. Would be cost effective and widen the appeal of what would effectively be the same car.

I wonder how this GT relates to the yellow test hack that was originally pictured in Autocar many moons ago? IIRC, the proportions were similar but the body was more angular. Could have been an earlier version I suppose.
