Just had the 111s at Lotus for some work and asked them to tighten up the shockingly slack gear change and reduce the jumping out of 5th. Its better, but not pleasure and jumped out of 5th 10 miles from the factory !

Considering investing in the Elise Parts Gear Linkage Kit; has anyone with similar symptoms tried this or any alternative fixes ?

Cheers, HB

I had the Eliseparts uprated gearchange kit and it is very good. Improved the change no end.

Probably the best mod you can do to an Elise for under £100

As part of my service, the gearlinkage was tightened. It is now brilliant feels like a rifle bolt!

Not sure why you should have needed that on a 111R mate, although saying that there is a funny sound on mine when changing into 2nd.

The gear change on the Toyota cars is sooooo much better than on the K's. 3rd to 4th is a joy to do.

As with all cable operated systems there is an amount of strech and give when they are new. It was quite incredible how much the gearchange was improved, better than when the car was new.

For the archive; the S2S gearbox is only 12 months and 4,000 miles old, and was adjusted by Lotus Sport 4 weeks ago, but having just had the eliseparts gear linkage kit fitted the gear change is *TRANSFORMED*, tight and crisp.

Mmmmm every change a pleasure rather than a battle.

Best £50 invested in the car so far. If you have limited funds don’t mess about with induction and whatnot until you have this done. Seriously, you have been told.
