Has anyone any experience of recovering steering wheels? I have the Lotus S1 motorsport type (red and black alcantra) which, thanks to some over zealous cleaning is starting to wear through. Any ideas (other than re-fit the old standard one)? Cheers all.

Hello mate, yes you could get them recovered easily, I have a upholstery business, the best bet is to speak to a leather specialist, I could do it ( and upholsterers like me ) but for the best finish talk to someone who works with leather all the time. Look for car interior repair guys in the yellow pages they will be able to do it piece of p1ss. Hope that helps.

£100 ! jesus, i could recover you dining chairs for that ( and I am not exactly the cheapest ) I would be looking to pay £20- £40. As I said its the independant guys who are just a van and a man who i would be speaking to. All they have to do is cut the old stitching off and be a bit handy with a needle, if they are worried about that then tell them to use same colour thread, it hides a multiude of sins
