Hi all, I've not been on here for ages but you've been good for info before so Ithought I'd give the experts out there and the rest of us to give me an idea. Nuff Said, so...........

I'm moving to Belgium have a UK Lotus 2000 S1 at the moment. I could register the car there but am considering that I could buy a LHD example in Uk and take that with me instead. Could save some cash/get a better car out of the deal in LHD are any cheaper in UK. Problem is how do I find one? Anyone know?.

In Belgium LHD Elises seem more expesive. Not many of them?

Hi, welcome to Belgium.
Are you right handed or left handed?
Changing gear with the righthand should be much easier to learn then i would do it otherwise.

Cheers.

Oh, and to answer your other question, yes they seem to be much more expensive here.
But consider yourself lucky your not moving to the netherlands in wich they are even more expensive.
With my money i could actually buy a second hand tvr or noble as i have seen some here on pistonheads but i don't think i'll find them here in Belgium though.
But then again fuel isn't cheap nowadays and i'll be happy if i get a good price for my honda s2000 to buy myself an exige.

Cheers.

As said above, speak to Geary about converting to LHD. Prices with LHD are at least the same as a RHD car plus the conversion cost. They are also quite rare, which I think puts up the price. you should be looking at around 2500-3000 GBP to convert depending on whether you use new or second hand parts.

Thanks for replies. On balance I think I'll stick with what I've got. Only question now is do I convert the lights and get it registered in Belgium or keep in UK for a few months a year and keep it UK registered.

I'll do the sums and lets you know.

I also put some of those black/alloy instrument stalks and handbreak on over the weekend and those little shiny button surrounds. For the money and effort they look pretty good, so it's a keeper. Anyway the girlfriend likes the colour and thinks its cute so no hassel from her on spending my cash on it. Everyones a winner!

Cheers

Is there any Lotus groups in Belgium? I think I found one, but I need to learn to read better French.

Current Elise is RHD, but I drive LHD with work car for last 8 months and am getting better.
