I put a depoist on a Lazer Blue 111R yesterday but won't be picking it up for a week.

A few questions though:
1. Jacking points
I am toying with the idea of putting the car on wheel dollys so that I can push it very close to the wall in my garage. Where are the jacking points and would it be possible, for example, to lift the car somewhere between the front wheels so I can put it on two dollys at once? ie not having to lift each corner in sucession.

2. Piper Cross induction kit
An advert in Evo mag claims that the Pipercross kit will gain 9BHP and 12 lbs/ft torque. Is this realistic?

3. Toyo/Advan tires
I might put some just about road legal tires on it, are these useable on normal roads in the wet? Maybe you simply back off if it rains

4. Elise Etiquette
In the wonderful world of Scooby's everyone waved at each other. Do Elise drivers do the same?

Thanks,

Phil

Can't help too much, am new at the whole Elise owning thing too..

But Pipecross, I have one of those on the car, does seem to make it a "little" more responsive, but not really noticable IMO.... Do get a nice exhaust though!!

And waving, we do !! Most people wave back, except for the guy the other night in an Eclat who I don't think noticed us and the fellow in the Elise who hit his windscreen wipers instead of flashing back!!!

WOW, at last somebody who agrees with my colour choice. I had to order mine direct from Lotus Sport at Hethel, and wait 3 months, but it is the Dogs Danglies. I thought mine would be the only Lazer Blue 111R around, but not now apparently. Infact mine is not around at the moment, still impounded at PLODS place following RTA!!!! But 1 day she will be back.

ENJOY...........

Congrats on the new car

1. Dunno
2. Doubtful
3. You can, just drive like your grand parents when its wet
4. Wave at any Lotus. Esprit & Elise owners tend to wave back more than the rest I find

1) Yes, the only point for a jack is on the sill and marked with a blus sticker, this will lift two wheels. The other points are for garage hoists.

2) 'fraid not.

3) Semi slick tyres need respect in the wet. You would probably need to change the suspension too or you'll hit the arches on track due to the extra grip.

4) Certainly do

Wantalotus - apparently this was a special order from the factory, since the US market is demanding so many cars there won't be any special orders made for a long time. That said Bell&Colvill have two other Lazer blue 111R's that came in this week.

The AO48's which come as standard on the Exige are fine in the wet. Its just standing water that they dont like. Because they have minimal tread which is not very deep to start with they cant clear standing water very well.

As Cuzza mentioned you would need to upgrade the suspension to have them on the 111R

A good induction kit will probably give an increase of 5 bhp. They do make a fantastic noise though. Have a look at the ITG system as well. A bit more expensive than the Pipercross but its carbon fibre and looks and sounds great.

Exige drivers just flash their lights as we have all whe windows up and the air con on!

looks like I started a trend with the colour choice then, maybe those marketing guys at Lotus could sit up and take note. On a down side, I best hope she doesn't get written off, otherwise I could have a long wait ahead to get another Lazer Blue. Makes me feel a whole lot better, as if I wasn't pee'd off enough at the moment!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I am developing an Induction kit for the 111R. It will retail at around £100 and is a great piece of kit. I normally sell these through ebay, but I am adapting it at the moment to suit the toyota engine. Dont waste £350 on the ITG kit. Satisfied customers will agree with that ! LEt me know if you are interested and I will add your details to the list of owners after one.
