Sorry I know this has been done to death but searching through archives hasn't really helped..

Any suitable bridgestones avaialable in 185/195 for this model?

Will geo be necessary after fitmment?

Will a dealer be able to tweak standard settings to reduce understeer? If so any suggestions? There are some on Seloc but all this toe in / out stuff doesn't realy make sense to numpty me..

Dont really want to do down new suspension / wheels / tyres route yet..

Cheers

Arno

No. RE040's are not available in 185/50R16 or 195/50R16.

You'll need to go to different tyre brands (eg. Toyo, Dunlop, Yokohama, etc.) if you want wider rubber.

Bye, Arno.

Silly - you will need to dress like a woman if you buy one of those mate. A better alternative is to buy an S1, less understeer!

Sinclaire's Waspy geo settings will kill understeer..... personally I think a touch of understeer is a good thing. Let's you know you've thrown it into a corner to hard.

My advice would be try the wider rubber 1st then see whether you want to alter the geometry.

I intended to widen the front wheels but Arno advised no bridgestones wider than 175's. I wanted to keep same brand all round ( no idea why).. After Airfield day will get geo checked / changed just to be sure..

You have made me think - when are you all finding it a problem?

Reason I’m asking is that the only time I find under steer a problem is a when I have messed up a corner (i.e. in too fast with no power on). Then you get that sickening running out of road feeling as you crab across the road. Other wise its very progressive.

Agree for road use...

Mine's a 135R (on LSS)so I have no understeer....... I refer back to my S1 which had a hint of intial understeer - which I liked. Ultimately on a track understeer is not good (and slower) but makes the car more communicative which is great for the road.

Std S2 maybe has a bit too much, but then it is much more stable on the limit than the S1......

If i am correct the S2 has more understeer mainly becausse of the 175 wide rims.
The S2 Exige has 195 rims so this one would make the perfect car?

Any S2 with the motorsport OZ rims run 195 fronts - thats all you need to do (and re-geo)...of course with std S2 rims, the widest you can realistically fit on the front is 185s

Looking at the official lotuscars website, it is possible to change the geometry (etc,...) of the R to match the exige, assuming you buy the wheels, tyres,,...

Does anybody here try this? Any idea of the price. ?

if you put the S2 Exige wheels/tyres/suspension on an S2 111R then it will handle the same. The geo can be changed to anything you like. If you goto a Specialist they have a list of around 15 different geo settings for all derivatives of Elise/Exige in road/track different suspension set-ups etc
