Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade the springs on the adjustable Spax suspension kit? From what i've heard the springs are too soft. Can they be replaced with a harder variety, leaving the dampers as original?

Has anyone replaced the standard Spax springs. The concept of adding harder Nitron springs appeals, but is this possible. Will they fit?

Aaaargh, No points for guessing who's frustrated

Is it possible to remove the spax springs and replace with nitrons?

There's industry standards for the internal diameter on springs .. for the sort of coil overs we see in the aftermarket world they're 1.9 inch, 2.25 inch and 60mm.

Most nitrons are 2.25 inch internal diameter so what you need to do is measure your springs inside and if they're the same you can get whatever rate and length you require either from nitron or any number of other places like demon tweeks and other suspension retailers

The same applies to springs for Spax dampers of course although personally if you keep the Spax damper and throw away the spring I'd say you've got it the wrong way round.

As posted previously springs do come in differing internal diameters, they also come in differing lenghts, spring weight (ie how stiff they are) and you can use spacers etc to alter the free lenght. Personally I would not re-spring the spax units, don't know what age they are but bet they need re-building anyway, if you can afford it go for the Nitrons, and e-bay your spax units you might get something back from them.
