A new Elise?

Not that I am in the market for one (im still saving for an S2), but i heard from an aquatence at a car company that there is going to be a new Elise laucnhed in 06.

She was very vague, i just wondered if it was bo110x or not?

As far as we know there is a new car being launched next year at the Geneva show in march, Its called the Europa and it is supposed to be a 2+2 fixed top coupe, powered by a 2.2 turbocaharged vauxhaull engine, price £30-£40k.

There might be a chance that Lotus are bringing out a new entry level elise at the same time, to replace the Rover engine models now no longer available, expect 140-160 bhp price, no idea but IMO -£25k.

As far as a new Mk 3 elise, thats very unlikely but saying that lotus did launch the Mk 2 with no prior warning, so you never know!! But they have just launched the re-speced 2006 model (see prvious thread) so IMO its not on the cards this year.

I also think Lotus are about to launch a facelift of the S2 Elise... Not entirely sure what it involves but I know LED rear lights are on the cards.

Not sure the new car will be an Elise, as previously stated it will be something in addition to current line up.
