OK, so I live in a building site.... new build houses are just next door and every day van loads of tradesmen park around the site on which my house stands.

I get home one day to find a small, but prominent dollop of paint on my beloved Sport 160 - its dry.... feck. :furious: :shoot:

Now I'm fairly sure that there is no point in trying to pin liability on the home builders or any of the sub-contracting tradesmen, you'll just get:
"are you sure it happened here mate?" or
"wasn't anyone ere"

so no joy there.

I don't really want to blow my no-claims bonus, either.

Is there a cheap way to remove this stuff - or do I go to the bodyshop? Its on the front clam, below the radiator, about 6 inches right of the badge. In sise its about 8mm wide and dribbles about 4 cm down. Its kind of rubbery stuff, I even peeled a tiny section off.

All ideas please!!

Thanks

I work for a house builder. We've had calls from irrate residents who've had damage to their property and (quite rightly in my view) hold us responsible.

We usually send them a cheque for the damage.

I'd speak to the MD of the house builders if I were you.

p.s. you may want to move this thread to The Pie and Piston where you'll get a lot more feedback!

I would try using Klem Klay from Zymol.

Remove as much as you can by using your finger nail then use the Klay.

You also need a lube before you use the klay.

Look for a match for the colour of the paint dropped on the car with the new building. If you find a match, it is very hard to argue.
