I have seen a nice Elise 111s for sale. Its done 43,000 miles has had 2 owners, the nice metalic purple colour, cream leather etc. The only bit that i am concernee about is that it has had all its oil changes etc done by normal garages. All the expensive work, shocks, cam belt has been done by Lotus.
Would this put many of you off? I am going to meet the guy next week but would like to know before habd if its a good idea or not.

Thanks in advance.

If the service schedule has been kept to by reputable specialists and all the work done by smaller garages is only oil changes and minor stuff I'd not be worried.

It's only a Rover K-series lump after all.

really dont worry about it - as has been said it's out of a Rover!

The only things I'd want Lotus or a reputed specialist like Sinclaires to do is suspension/geo stuff....not a lot else is relevant!

Having seen the crap work done on ours by Official Lotus Garages i think a full lotus history would now put me off buying one.

Ours won't be going back to lotus - ever.

Suspension / geo etc, it will be going to a specialist otherwise a trusted mechanic
